Kelsey and Mike - at Bonnet Island Estate, Long Beach Island
Bonnet Island Estate is a beautiful venue! I photographed one of the first events ever held here, and it hasn’t disappointed any time since. Needless to say, I was so happy when Kelsey and Mike contacted me to photograph their wedding day. Not only were they a great couple and their bridal party an awesome crew, but since they came from a referral which was a referral whom also was a referral, I had the chance to see so many past couples and parents! The icing on the cake was greeting Tom from Alliance Video as he walked into the bride’s suite to start his shooting day. I didn’t know that Tom was the videographer, and he is always a blast to work with.
I arrived to Bonnet Island on a fall afternoon to meet Kelsey’s bridesmaids and to get a few photos of the wedding day details. Once Kelsey was in her amazingly unique dress, I couldn’t wait to get outside for photographs! We had just enough time to visit one of the docks before the guys were scheduled to arrive by boat from Long Beach Island. One of my favorite things about shooting at Bonnet Island, by the way - the guys almost always arrive by boat!
The surroundings at Bonnet Island are coastal, pastel, bright and airy - yep, right up my alley, style-wise! The open spaces and beach faded tones of the buildings, plus the dune grasses all make for the best backdrops. Lucky for us, the dock was plenty big enough for Kelsey and Mike, the bridesmaids, and Mike’s NINETEEN groomsmen. You read that right - Nineteen!! You can count ‘em in the photo if you’d like!
With formalities out of the way, it was time for a wedding reception in the stunning Bonnet Island Estate ballroom. The energy in the room this night was incredible - I think every single guest was up dancing! From the minute Kelsey and Mike entered the room for their first dance, the party never paused right up to the end of the night. So many photos of excited friends, so many photos of dancing family! Laughs, tears, and a lot of zaniness made this a night to remember! Thank you, Kelsey and Mike, for choosing me and Timeless Photographics to capture your wedding memories!
